Story Behind Chocolate Peppermint Blossoms
When my mom was preparing to come to Portugal to visit, I was preparing a grocery list of things I wanted her to bring. I actually wound up ordering groceries and having them delivered to her. She brought over a ton of peanut butter, cranberry sauce, and mac and cheese.
Of course I had to browse the holiday section. I’m always looking for the Andes red peppermint chips, but they are almost impossible to find. Instead, I landed on a bag of Hershey’s Candy Cane kisses. I immediately knew I wanted to create a cookie with them and not just eat them. That actually seems weird to me that people just eat them for fun, they are definitely made to be used in baking!

I love a good chocolate and peppermint combo. So I figured why not take the classic peanut butter blossoms and make them Christmas-y. Let’s just say it took some trial and error with the cookie part, but you will definitely enjoy this recipe with the few tweaks that I made.
These cookies are easy to make and the red and white kisses just brought a huge smile to my face. I hope they will bring a smile to your face as well!
