I’m a sucker for banana bread. I seriously can sit and eat an entire pan of it, but I don’t do that. Instead, I go and cut a tiny slice, eat it, and then repeat that about 20 more times. It’s a weakness for me for sure. This healthier banana bread with yogurt is no exception!

If you have been here a while, you know that I’m a lover of Clean Simple Eats. I love to exercise and try to balance all of my sweets out with balanced meals and snacks. When I bought their treat book, I knew I would be disappointed because they were “healthy” treats. For me, if you’re really wanting something sweet, I say eat it. I tend to not be satisfied with the ‘wannabe’ sweets. However, I was pleasantly surprised! A lot of the recipes are so good that you would never guess they didn’t have granulated sugar or brown sugar in them.

One of my favorites is their banana bread squares. I cannot stay out of them! They are that good. I was whipping up a batch of them before heading to a wedding the other day. Side note: Does anyone else eat before going to a wedding reception? I never know if there is going to be real food, or if it just going to be dessert. It’s always a dilemma I have because I hate going to a reception and only having sweets to eat. I’ve learned that eating a healthier/heartier snack before hand helps out either way!
Anyways, I was out of a few ingredients, so I had to substitute a few things, and it was seriously the best it’s ever been. One of the changes I made was adding greek yogurt instead of applesauce. Making the banana bread with yogurt makes the bread so much heartier and rich. The texture becomes incredible soft and moist, yet dense all at the same time. I’m pretty sure my husband and I devoured half the pan before we loaded up the car with the kids and the wedding cake I was delivering.

Another unique thing about this banana bread recipe is that it is made with Kodiak Cakes pancake mix. I love that it is so versatile and adds a significant amount of protein to the recipe, making it even better for you. I enjoy having a lot of chocolate chips in my banana bread, but if you don’t, leave it out. It will still taste amazing.
